February 7 - mid-week match: The first mid-week match of the month was fished by 10 anglers, who had one eye on the forecasted snowy weather, which eventually arrived two days later. It was a bitterly cold evening, with a fresh south-easterly chilling the hardy bunch. Fish were hard to come by, but three anglers weighed in spotted ray, flounder and LSD. 1. Idris Williams, spotted ray 1.287 kg (an excellent early season fish); 2. Barry Taylor, LSD 0.581 kg; 3. Peter Cripps, flounder 0.317 kg. February 18 - roving match: Ten anglers had a go at the first roving match of the year. By the end, most wished they hadn't! A number of rock marks were visited, together with Hobbs Point. Only the one solitary LSD was landed in size by Nev Andrews, weighing 0.841 kg and cleaning up! February 21 - mid-week match: Before the latest mid week jolly commenced, 'El Presidenté', Roy Edge inspired the eight anglers present with a chilling analysis of the previous Sunday's roving match. Ten anglers fishing two rods for an average of eight hours equated to 160 'rod hours" and only one fished weighed in! Grateful for the motivational oration, the eight anglers proceeded to land a few LSD and one in size whiting, with on this occasion, Roy (seven points) Edge being one of those that weighed in! Well done Roy. 1. Garfield Thomas, LSD 0.936 kg; 2. Nev Andrews, bag 1.461 kg; 3. Barry Taylor, LSD 0.811 kg.
