DECEMBER RESULTS

Results from the club's matches during December were as follows: December 3 - beach match at Pendine: Unfortunately due to the extreme weather forecast for the day, the match was cancelled. Discretion was the better part of valour on this rare occasion! December 10 - Fur 'n' Feather: Twenty anglers, including two brave juniors, Ross and Ryan, endured torrential rain and gusty winds for the club's Fur 'n' Feather. Bass, LSD, flounder and whiting were recorded at the weigh-in. Very well done to Don Price for landing a bass of 1.54 kg to take the top prize and the Ex-Servicemen's Cup. Results were - 1. Don Price, bass 1.54 kg; 2. Idris Williams, bag of 2.089 kg; 3. John Hinde, LSD 0.708 kg; 4. Garfield Thomas, LSD 0.645 kg. As usual, Barry and Louvain Taylor produced an outstanding haul for the prizes and post-match raffle and thanks go to them both. Also a specific word for the vice-chairman, Bob, of J. V. Rowe, for supplying some outstanding seasonal meat prizes - cheers Bob! December 13 - committee match: Just two current committee men attacked the Committee Trophy which was won by Mike Dixon with a dogfish. December 17 - roving match: Six anglers, including the hardy juniors Ross and Ryan, fished the final roving match of the year. Llanstephan, Pendine and Saundersfoot were visited by the crew looking for fish. Flounder, dab and LSD were weighed in. Results were - 1. Julian Davies and John Nicholas, 46 pts; 2. Nev Andrews and Barry Taylor (gruesome twosome), 23; 3. Ross Edwards and Ryan O'Neill, 4. December 27 - mid-week match: Ten anglers fished the final mid-week match, where three anglers had a realistic chance of clinching the mid- week points and aggregate titles. In the end, John Hinde secured the points cup, with Idris Williams clinching the aggregate. LSD and whiting were recorded. Results were - 1. John Hinde, LSD 0.733 kg; 2. Mike Williams, bag 1.200 kg; 3. Idris Williams, LSD 0.714 kg. Thanks go to all anglers for competing during 2006 and all should by now have had the 2007 match list.

NEW YEAR OPENER

The first is the traditional opener, the Vice Presidents' Trophy, on January 7, when flatfish take preference. Fishing is on beaches between Telpyn and Giltar Points. Booking-in will take place at the multi-storey car park and anglers can leave at 1.30 and must be back by 6.30. As this is a normal beach match, only one rod is permitted.

CLUB AGM

Also please note that the club's AGM will take place at the Ex-Servicemen's Club on January 10 at 8 pm. Numbers will also be needed pretty soon for the annual trip to Clevedon, which this year is on January 28. Can anglers please let members of the committee know if they are interested within the next week or so.
