The first part of the year has been a bit quiet for most of us, to say the least. However, congratulations are offered to the members of Saundersfoot Angling Club who have located some top quality bass so early in the year. Well done lads!

Results of the last two beach matches for Tenby club were as follows:

March 15, roving match: Ten anglers fished a variety of venues, including Stackpole, Pendine and Dale beach (oddly enough). Flounder, five-bearded rockling and LSD were brought back to the scales.

Top rods were - 1. G. P. Thomas and Karl Boyle, 26 pts; 2. Barry Taylor and Nev Andrews, 14; 3. Mike Dixon and Bob Willing, 5.

The next match was held on Aberaeron beach last Sunday. A beautiful day greeted the five hardy 'soles' that embarked on the 100-mile round trip and the colour in the water bode well.

Results didn't stack, however, and a few LSD and one three-bearded rockling were brought to the scales.

Top rods were - 1. G. P. Thomas, LSD 0.641 kg; 2. Stevie Lewis, bag 1.573 kg; 3. Barry Taylor, LSD 0.546 kg.

Nev blanked!

The next match is on April 5 at Pendine, fishing from 11 am to 3 pm. Can members please note, arrangements have been made with the senior ranger to have access to the beach. This means that the barrier will be open at 10.30 am sharp. If you're late, it's fishing in front of the slip only!
