After a slow summer, with few matches due to difficult tides, the club is now entering its busy period.
Last Sunday saw nine anglers fish a roving match from 12 to 8 pm. A good day was had by most anglers, with ballan and corkwing wrasse, dogfish, mackerel, launce, flounder and pollack being landed.
Barry Taylor landed a cracking pollack of nearly 5lb from a mark in the north of the county. Father and daughter pairing of Mike and Isobel Williams took the overall honours, though, and Gareth Boyle also picked up a junior voucher for his effort.
Results were: 1. Mike and Isobel Williams 53 pts; 2. Barry Taylor and Nev Andrews 51; 3. John and Idris Williams 46.
The next match is at Ginst Point on Sunday, October 5, fishing 3 to 7 pm.
Can all anglers please note that there is a qualification requirement to fish the club fur and feather on December 14. In order to qualify, you must have fished five matches during the year. With a further 10 matches, both at the weekend and in mid-week, between now and then, there's plenty of opportunity!
Finally, the club has a website for those interested. As the web address is a bit long, just tap 'Tenby and District Angling Club' into Google and it should come straight up. Further information at any time from Nev Andrews on 01834 814072.
