Eighteen anglers, including two juniors, fished in good conditions on the South Beach on April 8. LSD and a Pouting were weighed in, with the LSD quite localised to the right of the beach. Results: 1. Stuart Allen, LSD 0.938 kg (also winning the Denning Shield); 2. Mike Williams, bag of 2.859 kg; 3. Steve Lewis, LSD 0.808 kg; 4. Peter Taylor, Pouting 0.114 kg. A dinghy match was held on April 16. Just 'Trigger' went in search of fish on a day of variable winds and decidedly variable fishing. Only LSD and Dabs were located and nine points recorded. There was another good turnout for the midweek match on April 19. A total of 12 anglers fished, with seven weighing in. Results: 1. Mike Williams, LSD 0.948 kg; 2. Mike Bradshaw, bag of 1.585 kg; 3. Jamie Wright, LSD 0.873 kg. On April 30 there was a trip to Aberaeron. Seven anglers competed on a flat calm day and a surprising number of small Bull Huss were caught in addition to the usual LSD. Results: 1. Steve Lewis, LSD 0.741 kg; 2. Mike Bradshaw, bag 3.430 kg; 3. Stuart Allen, LSD 0.724 kg. Fish of the month was won by Mike Williams with an LSD of 0.948kg. The first good Bass of the year has been recorded by John Nicholas at 3.430 kg. Forthcoming matches are the next dinghy competition on May 14, from 9 am to 6 pm, and a shore match at Pendine from 6 to 10 pm on May 20.
