Members of the Tenby Aces triathlon group recently took on an epic challenge to raise vital funds for local Hospice at Home charity – Paul Sartori Foundation.
The avid cyclers decided to take on ‘Arches to Arches’ on Friday, June 17, which was to ride from Marble Arch, in London to the Five Arches in Tenby, 250 miles all within 24 hours!
Riders who took part were Shaun Griffiths, Huw Benbow, Dave Poole, Jamie Silvester, Dave Lewis, Billy Connor, Gareth Rees, Steve White, Colin and Bev Barrett, whilst in support were Paula Smith, Nicola Coates, Sarah Benbow and Janine Evans.
And as if that was not enough, some members also ran the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (186 miles) in sections from June 23 to 26 - Mike Smith, Tracey Thomas and Carlton Coates, supported by Paula Smith, Karen Vickery, Janina Evans, Nicola Coates and David Poole.
Paul Sartori Foundation representative Sandra Dade, recently attended a cheque presentation with the Tenby Aces where they presented the charity with a staggering amount of £7,200.
In addition to this greatly appreciated sum of money, was £110 which was collected on the evening.
Nicola Coates of the Aces said: “We chose Paul Sartori Foundation because many Tenby Aces have seen first hand the work that they have done”
“It is through the generosity of the Pembrokeshire people raising and donating vital funds that we are able to continue to provide this much needed service for anyone in the later stages of any life limiting illness,” said Sandra Dade, Charity Manager at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.
