Dyfed-Powys Police has been conducting a series of searches across the county as part of the force's ongoing efforts to tackle the misuse of Mephedrone, commonly known as Mcat or Meow Meow.
On Thursday, 12 warrants were executed in the Pembroke/Pembroke Dock/ Haverfordwest/Milford Haven areas as part of an ongoing operation.
During the searches, drugs were seized that related to 10 arrests. All have been bailed pending further enquiries.
These operations also enable police to gather key intelligence, which can be significant as the investigations develop.
Inspector Carl Roach said: "This enforcement action follows a continued and robust campaign of raising awareness of the dangers of this drug, which became illegal in 2010 when it was classified as a Class B drug.
"This has included work within the local schools - and additionally our school liaison team of officers will continue to raise awareness and educate young adults about the dangers of this drug, which is seen as a 'new drug on the block'."
Inspector Roach also highlighted that Dyfed-Powys Police is planning further enforcement activity over the coming months to ensure that this effective and successful momentum continues. However, it is important that anyone with information regarding the use or distribution of this drug should contact police on 101, or via Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
