The nave of St. Elidyr's Church, Amroth, was filled with a good audience for a concert given by Pembrokeshire's own music group, Tempus, on Saturday evening. The event started with a free glass of wine on arrival, and canapés were served during the interval.
The group, under the direction of Seimon Morris, performed an exciting eclectic mix of gospel, pop and classical music.
The programme included traditional spirituals, modern works such as Adiemus by Karl Jenkins and David Fanshawe's African Sanctus, with lighter items provided by a medley from 'My Fair Lady', along with an arrangement of 'Dancing Queen'. Ellen Mason delighted the audience by playing 'Y Delyn Aur' and 'Dafydd y Garreg Wen' on the harp. The audience then came back to modern times, with four young members of the group performing in their own 'Girl Band' under the title of 'Black Liquorice'.
The concert ended with the group's party piece, the rock/gospel setting of 'Hail Holy Queen'. Altogether a very enjoyable evening, and everyone looks forward to Tempus returning to Amroth at a future date.
