At a recent meeting of Templeton Community Council the following items were discussed.

The Play Park treatment had been delayed because of the weather, but it was planned to do it before the end of October if possible.

The council were also anticipating that the replacement pole would be available so that the swing seta could be re-instated.

The council were also pleased to be told that the landscaping in Cold Blow was nearly finished, with a plinth for a bench one of the few items remaining to be done.

The Council would aim to provide a defibrillator in Cold Blow next year if possible. In addition the meeting was given information about the recommended allowances for Councillors, to comply with Wales-wide standards.

It was reported to the Council that the Harvest Thanksgiving service in St John’s Church had been very good, and thanks were to be passed to Mrs. Phillips for sorting the flower arrangement on behalf of the Council. It was confirmed that arrangements for the Remembrance Service and Bonfire and fireworks were in place for November 5.

There would be food available courtesy of Templeton YFC and although the event was free entry a bucket collection would be made by Templeton School for the School.

The County Councillor reported on his ongoing efforts to ensure the proposed housing development near the Boar’s Head provided adequate footpath access and that proper safety measures were in place for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic.

It was reported that there were parking issues in the area of Picton Close that were being dealt with, and that there seemed to be a leak through a wall on the corner of the main road. The meeting was also informed that the trees would be arriving in November. Finally the following planning applications were received: Application: 18/0683/PA. Extensions and alterations to coach house. Martins Farm, Templeton. SA67 8RZ. No objections were raised. Application: 18/0646/PA. Erection of dormer bungalow. Cliff Gates, Templeton. No objections were raised. Conditionally approved: 18/0436/PA. Variation of condition 2 of permission 17/0228/PA to resite garage. Plot 1, Margarets Well, West Lane, Templeton. Conditionally approved: 148/0564/PA. Formation of new driveway. 17 Sentence Gardens, Templeton.
