At the January meeting of Templeton Community Council, a letter was received from the Community Association thanking the council for their kind donation for the upkeep of the Christmas lights. Kilgetty AFC wrote informing the council that they no longer required the football field at Thomas Chapel. Pembrokeshire County Council wrote asking if the council required the revised Carers Handbook. It was decided not to have the newer version. The headmaster of Templeton CP School had informed the council that the children had a discussion about the naming of the new housing development at Cold Blow. They came up with two names, 'Castle View' or 'Windsor Gardens'; the council preferred the latter. The clerk would write to Pembrokeshire County Council with the suggested name. Finance: A quarterly bill for the clerk's wages of £478.98 was received. A cheque for £150 was received from Kilgetty AFC for use of the football field.
Planning
Clr. E. Morse left the meeting at this point and Clr. Belt took the chair for planning matters. There were no objections to the following applications: Erection of double garage with store - Greenwood Villa, Cold Blow. Proposed office accommodation and salt barn silo - Templeton Highway Depot, Templeton. Alteration and extension -Clover Lea, Cold Blow. Alteration and extension - 12 Hillside Terrace, Templeton. Demolish existing dwelling and construct new dwelling - 1 Rose Cottage, Allensbank, Narberth (passed) Proposed demolition of single outbuilding and new single storey extension - Holyland Farm, Cold Blow (passed).
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
It was decided that the chairman, Clr. Morse should approach the planning department of Pembrokeshire County Council to enquire whether the new village/community development was viable. Clr. Williams asked that a letter be written to the county council regarding the 'Orange Bag' recycling scheme. He wanted to know if Templeton would be included in the next phase, which was the Narberth area. Clr. Griffiths enquired whether street lighting and pavements would be installed up Pembroke Hill with the increased heavy lorries/traffic accessing the aerodrome for the new gas pipeline. The clerk would write a letter. Te next meeting will be held at the Church Hall on February 16 at 8 pm.
