Eight members attended a recent meeting of Templeton Community Council, held in the Church Hall. The following matters were discussed.

Matters Arising

Clr. P. Williams informed the council that he had read the Draft Supplementary Planning Guidance. The clerk was told to write to Pembrokeshire County Council agreeing with their findings.

Correspondence

Thank you letters were read from Wales Air Ambulance, Crossroad Carers, Macmillan Cancer and Templeton Chapel for the donations the council had made. A letter from Pembrokeshire County Council regarding the possible siting of pedestrian warning signs between Tanners Lane junction and the highways depot was read. The authority agreed that these signs would be beneficial and therefore would arrange for the appropriate signs to be erected. Pembrokeshire County Council informed the council that there would be a delay in the appointment of a new governor for Tavernspite School. Clr. B. Priest said she would be happy to have her name put forward as a possible candidate. Templeton Community Association had contacted the council asking if they could write to the county council to gain permission for the siting of flower planters outside the post office. The council agreed to do this.

Planning

There were no objections to the following planning applications: erection of dwelling - Larkspur Garage, Templeton; alterations and extension - Woodoffice Caravan Park, Cold Blow; certificate of lawfulness for an existing use or activity in breach of planning application - Autumn Drive, Cold Blow.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

The council congratulated Clr. Elwyn Morse on being elected the new county councillor. Templeton AFC had sent a copy of their minutes regarding the handing back of the football field to the council. The council would accept responsibility for the field, but asked that the football club leave it in a safe state. The field could still be used for other clubs or events with permission from the community council, providing that the parties wanting to use the field had adequate liability insurance. Clr. J. Jones informed the council that she had received complaints regarding cars parking on pavements outside the council houses that front the main road. It was agreed to write to the highway authority about the matter. The clerk requested that the council purchase a printer, which members agreed to. The next meeting will be on Thursday, July 21, in the Church Hall, at 8 pm.
