Templeton Community Council's annual general meeting was held on Thursday, May 15. There were no matters arising from the last annual meeting.

Mr. D. Belt proposed and was seconded by Mr. J. Harries that the vice-chairman, Mr. J. Mathias, take the chair for the forthcoming year. Mr. Mathias accepted this position.

The outgoing chairman, Mr. D. Belt, thanked everyone for their support during the last year.

Mr. J. Harries proposed that Mr. David Gibbs take the position of vice-chairman. As Mr. Gibbs was not present, it was decided to delay this decision until the next meeting.

As there was no other business, Mr. D. Belt closed the annual meeting and the new chairman, Mr. Mathias, conducted the monthly meeting.

Mr. J. Harries stated that he was told by Mr. May that the discarded marquee was still causing problems to him when he cuts the village green. Mrs. J. Jones said that she would arrange to have the offending marquee removed.

Mr. May also informed the council that there was Japanese Knotweed at the rear of the village green. It was suggested that the clerk write to the county council to arrange eradication of this.

A letter was received from the county council regarding a five-year local housing strategy. The community council felt that there were insufficient affordable houses for local people within the community.

A letter and notices were received from the county council for the casual vacancy on Templeton Community Council. It was proposed that the notices be displayed in prominent places within the community. Mr. D. Belt also suggested that the notice be included within the local newspaper.

A letter was read from Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd thanking the council for their support in obtaining road signs for Molleston.

Maps were received from the Countryside Council for Wales showing registered common land throughout Pembrokeshire.

Mr. D. Belt had received from Mr. F. M. Morgan, of Poyers Grove, petitions signed by local people to remove the groundwater holding tank between Poyers Grove and the community play park. It was asked if the community council could forward one copy to the county council and another to Pembs. Housing Association.

There were no objections to the following planning permissions: Change of use from clubhouse to holiday unit at Greenfields Caravan Park; Residential dwelling at Great Chapel Hill Farm; uPVC conservatory at Rowlands Park.

Mr. Mathias asked the council whether anyone had read the article in the local press regarding Narberth Town Council's proposal to the county council for traffic reduction through Narberth by diverting via Templeton and Cold Blow.

It was suggested that the clerk obtain more information on this as they felt it was not a good idea.

The date of the next meeting was set for June 19 in the Church Hall at 8 pm.
