A teenager was airlifted to hospital on Saturday after an incident at a popular South Pembrokeshire beach. A 14-year-old girl from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, on holiday at Saundersfoot with her family, fell eight feet onto stones, while walking along the sea wall at Wiseman's Bridge. A Tenby ambulance crew, along with the air ambulance, which was tasked by ambulance control due to the location and suspected injuries, went to the girl's aid. Tenby Coastguard Rescue Team and a Tenby police unit were also asked to assist. The girl was treated for potential head and spinal injuries and placed onto a spinal board and then into the air ambulance stretcher and flown to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest. She was later released, having sustained only soft tissue injuries to her head and body.
