TWO teenagers will be taking to the skies to raise money for national road safety charity, Brake.

Seventeen-year-old twin brothers Sam and Danny Hinde, of Tenby, are taking part in a sponsored parachute jump in memory of their sister's partner, Wayne Hart, who was tragically killed in a bike accident in May 2007.

Sam and Danny, who are in Year 12 at Greenhill School, will be joined by their sister Colette Duckett, who lives in Cheshire, for the jump on June 7.

They will be jumping out of a plane 10,000-feet up in the air, but if the weather is good, they have the option of going to 15,000-feet.

"Wayne Hart left behind his two children Lauren, four, and Joel, who was one the day after his father's death, along with stepchildren Rachel and Josh," explained the boys.

"Our sister has greatly suffered from his death and has been raising money for the charity Brake ever since.

"We are participating in the event for Colette and her children in memory of Wayne and also for all the people who have been affected by road crashes."

Brake is a national road safety charity that works to stop death and injury on UK roads and to support people who have been bereaved or injured by a road crash.

The trio will be among 70 people joining the parachute jump to highlight the number of people killed or injured in road accidents every day.

The boys - and Colette - however need to raise £400 each before they can take part in the jump at Flookburgh Airfield in Cumbria, but they are hoping to raise more like £500 each.

The boys are busy fund-raising and their mum, Michelle, is involved in organising a Valentine's themed market at Penally Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 2-5 pm.

Sam and Danny will be serving teas, coffees and refreshments in aid of their challenge, with proceeds from the market itself also being donated to their cause.

A raffle is being held with a variety of prizes, including two cut and blow drys kindly donated by Katie Louise Hair at Lydstep.
