Teddy Bears Tea Party raises £240 for school

The Friends of St. Florence School recently held a Teddy Bears Tea Party at the Village Hall and playing field, which raised £240 for the school.

Teddy orientated games were organised, including Throw a Teddy and Three Legged Teddy Races, and there was also a boys and girls football tournament. The sun shone and families sat on the grass and enjoyed refreshments. All the children enjoyed a party tea prepared by the mums.

A raffle was also held, with the first prize being a giant teddy donated to the Friends of the School by Margaret Littler, of Plough Penny Field Nursery. The teddy was won by Mrs. Lynn Baugh, of St. Florence, who has donated it to Ty Hafan, the Welsh children's hospice, who are in turn going to raffle it on to raise funds for their cause.

A splendid time was had by all.
