Sartori's Café in Haverfordwest was the setting for a teddy bears picnic as children from Roch School Kids Club came together to take part in a teddy bear workshop.

Run by Steps to Employment learners from Pembrokeshire College, the Community Café above Paul Sartori in Haverfordwest has been going from strength to strength with a regular programme of activities planned to draw people into the café.

Organised by the students, as part of a project to develop promotional activity for the café, students approached The Teddy Workshop to put on an activity for youngsters during the school holidays. Working together, the children made an extra special bunny rabbit and filled it with their wishes before adding the stuffing and stitching it up.

Almost 20 children aged from three to 10 years took part in the workshop, with the teddy now set to be raffled to raise money for Paul Sartori. As a thank you for their help in making the teddy, each child was given a raffle ticket to be in with a chance of winning the teddy.

Project co-ordinators Debby Kimsey and Alex Findlay commented: "The café is giving students real learning experiences. They are leaving their comfort zones and getting involved in collaborations with local businesses which is making the café a bustling place to be and which is ultimately going to help them to gain employment in the industry."
