For many years, Texaco Ltd. (now Chevron Texaco) have supported the work of the Prince's Trust in Pembrokeshire and in particular the Team programme which encourages and helps young people to develop their skills, confidence and motivation to increase their employability and help them get their lives working.

As part of this programme, groups of young people get involved with a variety of community projects and presently, Team 97, led by Steve Blunt, are working closely with pupils at Greenhill School to transform their neglected school garden. They will help to create a new disabled access footpath, plant areas with wildlife-encouraging plants, improve facilities and give the area a general make-over.

Through the 'Community Action Programme', the development officer, Lynne Chattoe, enables these teams to contribute their time on the Team programme to help a huge variety of organisations. Over the years they have lent a hand to schools, churches, youth centres, family centres, community groups, the National Park, the National Trust and community and town councils. In addition, the teams are hard at work in Pwllcrochan helping Texaco to build an Environmental Education Centre, with boardwalks, bird hides and dipping platforms.

Texaco representative Phil Thompson is pictured presenting a cheque to the members of Team 97, which will go towards supporting the community work of the Trust's Team programme in Pembrokeshire.

Phil Thompson went on to say: "In our 40th year in the community it gives us great pleasure to continue our longstanding involvement with the Prince's Trust Cymru."

Team 97 are Dan Laxton, Shaz Jones, Rob Britton, Georgie Haldane, Dave Thomas, Sam Hall, James Elliot, Heather Clarke, Andrew Havard, Alex Hill and Mikey McNamara, and assistants Andy Walters, Richard Muller, Gaynor Smith.
