The wedding took place at the Greenbank Hotel, Falmouth, Cornwall, on Saturday, of Mr. Jonathan Derek Cole and Miss Emma Claire Smith. The groom, head of music at Downton School, Downton, Wiltshire, is the eldest son of Derek and Eirwen Cole, of Pen-y-Bryn, Church View, Summerhill, while the bride, a history and geography teacher in Poole, is the eldest daughter of David and Janet Smith, of Robin Hill, Carlidnack Road, Mawnan Smith, Falmouth, Cornwall. Given away by her father, the bride looked stunning in an ivory two-piece gown. She carried a bouquet of cream roses and lilies. Attending her as bridesmaids were her sister Louise Smith and friend Vicki Barton. Best man was Matthew Cole (groom's brother), while the ushers were Chris Shipway, Matt Brennan and Edward MacAlpine. The service was conducted by the superintendent registrar. The couple will be making their home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.
