A LOCAL school teacher has found himself top of the class as he has been nominated for the Pride of 'Britain's Teacher of the Year' award.
Paul Harries, of Haverfordwest, a teacher at Narberth CP School, is among the regional finalists for the awards, sponsored by the Daily Mirror.
Nominated by a past pupil, Mr. Harries, who has worked at the school for 18 years, could have the chance to attend the star-studded London-based awards ceremony at the end of the month if he is voted the best among the Welsh nominees.
And if he's successful, he could also have the chance to attend a special reception hosted by Gordon Brown at Downing Street.
The teacher, described as "always very busy" by the school's headteacher, Mrs. Edna Davies, coaches the school's sports teams and is a member of the PTA.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the awards, which will be screened on ITV on Wednesday, October 1.
