Trade for taxi drivers in Tenby is being affected by outside operators, according to a local councillor.
Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, that many taxi drivers had approached her with their concerns that operators from outside the area were coming into the resort and taking their business away.
"I know there's plenty of custom during the summer season for our local taxi operators, but during the winter it can be very difficult," said Clr. Mrs. Evans.
"I'm just wondering, are these outside drivers allowed to operate in the town? Are those who have licences in Carmarthenshire allowed to come into Pembrokeshire?
Clr. Mike Evans said it would be worth writing to Pembrokeshire County Council's licensing department to seek clarification on the matter and also to highlight the plight that local taxi drivers were facing in these circumstances.
