Local councillors are to invite a senior member of the Tenby Taxi Associates to a future meeting of the town council to discuss issues raised in a letter they recently received with regard to taxi rank plans within the new enhancement scheme.

Mr. Tony Brown, whose letter was discussed at last week's meeting of the council, raised the following points about taxi drivers' concerns over the proposed scheme.

"At the moment we are being overlooked, as on a Saturday night the town holds upwards of 30 taxis, but the enhancement scheme has allowed only three taxi bays in the town," wrote Mr. Brown.

He also raised issues about the new taxi rank in the town's multi-storey car park, which he believes is not working, with few people knowing about it. "I personally have used it daily and have not picked up a single customer from there," he remarked.

Councillors agreed to invite Mr. Brown to a meeting in September, along with Mr. John Price, of Pembrokeshire County Council's traffic department.
