Owen Filipovic, a pupil of Tavernspite School, is very conscious of other people's needs.

He recently came into school and said that he would like to raise money for Macmillan Trust Appeal by cycling around Templeton Airfield.

This was his very own decision, collecting sponsorships from his friends at school as well as staff.

His mum and dad have also been very supportive, measuring out the perimeter of the airfield and helping collect sponsor money from their places of work, especially, Brooklands Care Home, near Tenby, with a great big thank you going to staff and residents.

Owen cycled 10 miles, although by the end he was very tired, through his dogged determination and lots of encouragement from his family, he managed to complete his task and raise a fantastic £218.50.

All at the school are very proud of Owen and know that the money he has raised will help towards cancer research in the future.
