Pembroke Dock booked a place in the second round of the Tavernspite Garden Centre Alan Brown Cup with an excellent five-wicket win over Lamphey in the local derby.

Lamphey found progress difficult in the face of some top-notch bowling and fielding by the visitors, in spite of a quality innings of 52 not out by opener Rob Mathias, who used every endeavour to hold things together for his team, who were restricted to 84-6.

Nick Daley took 2-24 for the Dock, who were indebted to talented 14-year-old all-rounder David Dunfee.

The youngster batted at number three and once again showed his potential in a mature match-winning innings of 52 not out, which included a six and four 4s after plundering 17 runs from the come back over bowled by Steve Vale.

He took the Dock to a winning total of 85-5 after surviving two 'lives', supported by Jacob Davies with 13 after a wicket-taking spell of 3-16 by Lamphey spinner Hywel Gibbs.

Hundleton defeated the visitors St. Florence by nine runs.

The Saints were chasing a Hundleton total of 94 all out after Peter Hall had taken 4-20 and Tony Phillips 3-37.

Morgan Allen with 24 and Steve Williams with 20 were the main contributors to the Hundleton total.

Division Five St Florence rose to the challenge and managed to reach 83-9 in an attempt to beat their Division Three opponents.

Peter Hall led the way with 33 in good all-round performance as David Manning took 3-16 for Hundleton.
