Walter Witt posted a score of 40 points to win the stableford competition on Saturday, November 8. This was far too good for the rest of the field, although there were useful scores from runner-up Gary Heesom, who finished with 36, and from Richard Davies, third on countback with 35. George King, fourth, also scored 35. Bob Burks made the only two of the day.

Pat Corcoran won the Tuesday stableford on November 11, scoring 36 points, with John Bancroft second on 34. Walter Witt and Ivan Kirk were joint third, each scoring 33.

Scoring improved on Thursday, November 13, with John Shaw notching up a magnificent 42-point tally to win. The runner-up was that man Walter Witt, in the top three for the third time in six days, his score this time being an impressive 38. George King continued his consistent run with 36 points, enough for third place.

In the F. H. Gilman Junior Matchplay Cup, Ben Price won his quarter-final against Leighton Gwyther and will tee-off in the semi-final against Matthew McMann. The quarter-finals in the other half of the draw have yet to be played.

With the festive season fast approaching, the first of three turkey trots will be held on Saturday, November 29. The other two will follow on successive Saturdays, December 6 and 13.
