There was some excellent golf, and very low scores, in the Medstab competition on Saturday, November 1. Rob Evans' winning score of 24 Medstab points was outstanding (gross 78 minus handicap 12 minus stableford score 42 = 24). Phillip John was second (89-22-41) with 26 Medstab points. Walter Witts (78-10-40) snatched third with 28 points, beating Danny Brown (88-20-40) thanks to a better back six. Gareth Burks, Steve Wedlake, Andrew Evans and Robin Lloyd all scored twos.

There were high winning stableford scores in both midweek contests. John Smith won with 40 points on Tuesday, November 4. Gilroy Thomas and Garfield Price were joint second with 38 points each. There was another 40-point winner on Thursday, November 6, with John Rolfe in fine form finishing well ahead of the rest who were led home by Angelo Zeraschi, second with 36 points.

The eclectic competition is at the halfway stage, and the lowest net to date is 56 by Richard Davies. He leads the rabbits division (16-28 handicaps), with Ken Badham, who holed out from long distance for eagle three, net two on the fourth, second on net 60.

In the top division (0-15 handicaps), Meurig Evans and Rob Evans are currently joint leaders, each on net 59.

Trefloyne Juniors are approaching the latter stages of the F. H. Gilman Junior Matchplay trophy, and Matthew McMann is the first to book his semi-final place, having overcome the challenge of Sam Fletcher in the quarter-final. Matthew plays the winner of the Ben Price/Leighton Gwyther quarter-final. In the other quarter-finals, Nathan Lewis plays Jack Guerriero and Gareth Davies plays James Maxwell.
