The conditions were generally favourable for the Jenkins of Pembroke Easter Cup which was contested over the holiday weekend. Those who chose to play one of their two rounds on the Saturday, when the wind was extremely testing, gave themselves the most to do. One of those was Dean Rawlins who was well placed after a 37-point haul on the Friday, to which he added a useful 31 on the Saturday, setting a target of 68 over the 36 holes.
Amongst the later starters was Alan Jones who scored a handy 32 on the Sunday before making a run for victory with an excellent 37 on the Monday to finish with 69, leaving Dean as runner-up. Garfield Price followed an opening 35 with 30 in his second round, and was third with 65.
Mel Beeley, Ivan Kirk and Garfield Price scored short hole birdies, but the best two of the weekend was by Brian Norman who made eagle at the 14th.
