Trefloyne's showpiece weekend of golf approaches, with a main feature being the annual Trefloyne Invitation Challenge on Friday, May 9. The organisers are hoping for the usual large entry from members, local businesses and players from other local golf clubs. Wales Air Ambulance is this year's charity.
There are team and individual stableford events for gents and ladies. The prestigious Trefloyne Challenge Cup is awarded to the best individual gent; the Annual Challenge Salver goes to the ladies equivalent. The top team win the Trefloyne Team Challenge Shield. There are prizes for nearest the pin, longest drive and various divisional awards for individual stableford and gross scores.
Entry is in teams of three at £75 per team, to include round of golf, refreshments on arrival and at the turn, and meal afterwards. There is a cash bar. Entry forms can be obtained from Trefloyne Golf Club (tel: 01834 842165). Entries should be handed in by Wednesday, April 30.
Captains Ian Lawrence and Liz Crockford will be looking for plenty of support from members for Captains Day, Saturday, May 10. The entry fee of £10 includes a meal and entertainment in the marquee after the golf. Entries should be handed in by May 3.
The weekend concludes with the Junior Open Day on Sunday, May 11. Following last year's successful inaugural event, another large entry of Juniors from across Pembrokeshire is eagerly anticipated. There is a minimum prize fund of £350, and entry is £5 to include a barbecue meal afterwards.
