Meurig Evans won the Lombard strokeplay competition on Saturday, April 20, earning himself the opportunity to partner Trefloyne professional Steve Laidler in the regional qualifier later in the season. Only a couple of shots covered the first three, with Gerald John and Roger Cryer filling the places. Mel Neale had the only two.

Chris Thompson handed in one of Trefloyne's best ever cards on Thursday, April 25, winning with 39 points off his meagre one handicap. Ivan Kirk was second with 35 and David Owen third with 33.
Earlier in the week, John Cliff had won the Tuesday stableford on April 23 with 33 points. Barry Thorne was second with 27.
Phil Catlin has won two successive Sunday Club contests, scoring 35 on April 14 and 33 the following week.
Entrants for the Laidler and Wesley House singles are reminded that the first round must be completed by this Tuesday, May 7. Any further entry forms for the Charity Invitation Challenge, on May 10, and for Captains' Day, May 11, should be handed in without delay.
The Juniors are enjoying their current Sunday competition, the Carl French Electronics Matchplay. On April 14, the winners were Matthew McMann, Tom Hilling, Matthew Rees, Nathan Lewis and Adam Thomas. Leighton Gwyther and Allessandro Servini halved. The following week, Adam, Tom, Nathan and Matthew Rees all won again, with Luke Laidler and David Warren also successful.
With spring here at last, Trefloyne Ladies have taken to the fairways in droves and, after a busy April, have plenty of news and results to report. Pat Fletcher and Liz Crockford will be playing off for the winter league. The ladies' Jenkins of Pembroke Easter Cup was won by Caroline Fletcher with 64 points over the two rounds. Michaela Edwards won the LGU Medal for April with a net 72. Carolinda Phillips won the Saturday stableford with a fine 38 points.
Caroline Fletcher notched up a second win in the month, taking the LGU Silver Bowl with a gross 87, net 76. Ladies captain, Liz Crockford, took the Bronze Bowl competition with net 71. Good luck to both in the regional rounds.
The ladies spring/summer league is off to a good start, and there is also an eclectic competition in progress. All lady members are welcome on Tuesdays, Ladies Day, throughout the season. New members and novices are given every support and encouragement.
