Fresh from his critically acclaimed London residence at the Ambassadors Theatre, multi award winning actor, Rob Brydon takes to the stage in a spin-off from the BBC Series, Marion and Geoff.
Marion and Geoff will play at the Torch Theatre on Friday, April 4 at 7.30pm.
Brydon is Keith Barrett, a 30-something mini cab driver. Separated from his wife, Marion, and their two sons - who now live with Marion's new partner Geoff, Keith spends his time navigating the streets not only in search of that elusive fare but also confessing the dead ends and wrong turns his life seems to have taken.
The dark humour of Keith's monologues conveys the sad reality of his situation. A relentlessly optimistic man he lives in a constant state of denial. The complete opposite of the 'new lad' generation, Keith is the middle-aged family man desperately trying to regain some control over his life, which has fallen apart since the breakdown of his marriage. Driving around in circles, literally and figuratively.
Rob Brydon has won both Best Comedy Newcomer and Best Television Comedy Actor at the British Comedy Awards since starring in the original television series of Marion and Geoff.
Tickets priced at £12.50 and £10.50 (discounts) may be purchased from the Torch Theatre Box Office (01646 695267). Early booking recommended!
A new six-week series of Marion and Geoff started on BBC2 on January 29, and Series One is released on DVD and video on March 3.
