You may have already heard about ‘Take Me Too!’ - Pembrokeshire’s new lift sharing project.

Brought to you by Pembrokeshire’s Community Transport Charity - PACTO (Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations) and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund as part of their Rural Wales Programme, this project matches people who need a lift, or who would like to lift share, with someone who is going their way anyway.

“People have been sharing journeys in Pembrokeshire since long before the motor car, but not everyone knows who they can ask for a lift or who to offer a lift to. We’re aiming to fill that gap,” said Ruby Woods project assistant.

“Our goal is for everyone in Pembrokeshire to be able to make the journeys they need and want to make. If there isn’t public transport or a taxi available when and where it’s needed (or if money is tight) we’ll try and find someone who can offer a lift.

“This way we can help each other out, save money (it’s not too expensive for the passenger and the driver gets a bit of help with the cost of the journey too) and help save the planet! It also helps us meet new people and builds happier, more connected communities for us all to live in.

“We’re looking to be working with event organisers in order to get more ‘bums on seats’ at various venues around Pembrokeshire and we welcome any suggestions

“We also need more drivers on board to help with the journey requests,” she added.

Speaking at last week’s meeting of Tenby town council, Deputy Mayor. Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown told her colleagues that she thought the project was a very good idea.
