A tag team surf shootout competition is returning to Pembrokeshire after over a decade, with Manorbier Beach set to host the event in June.
Blue Horizons Adventures in partnership with the Manorbier Castle Inn and the local community is delighted to announce the return of a popular community surf competition.
More than 40 surfers have already signed up to the event which is being run in collaboration with the experienced team behind the former PSR (Pembrokeshire Surf Ryders) surf events.
And for the first time ever, this year’s competition will feature an adaptive category, with team members and organisers in the sea to support the adaptive surfers.
Proceeds and donations from the event, which was last run 13 years ago, will directly fund future inclusive surf events.
The day will feature multiple surf heats, a community beach clean, refreshments, and prize giveaways from local and national surf brands.
The fun will continue with an evening awards ceremony at the Manorbier Castle Inn, with celebrations including live music from Manocassa and local DJs plus free food!
The event will take place on Saturday, June 21 - with registration at Manorbier Beach at 2 pm; surfing starting from 3.30 pm; and awards presented later that evening at the Manorbier Castle Inn from 7 pm.
Ollie Bird of Blue Horizons Adventures said: “The event aims to celebrate local talent while also making surfing more accessible to everyone, regardless of background or ability.
“We have been amazed by how many people have come forward to help organise the event. From local photographers catching the magical moments on the day for free to a local artist designing the logo, every part of the event has been a great team effort with the same ultimate goal - fun in the surf for everyone.”

The National Parks have agreed to donations for the car park on the day instead of parking charges with proceeds going to the Tenby Surf lifesavers club. Prizes have been donated from local sponsors including Barti Rum and The Port of Milford Haven.
How does a tag team surf competition work:
• Surfers apply individually from six different categories ranging from masters to juniors and adaptives
• Teams of 6-8 surfers will be assigned captains and all teams will include members from each category. The team will decide who to put in and when
• There will be prizes ranging from the most interactive to the best wipeout!
• Blue Horizons will be in the water to support surfers as well as volunteers on hand around the beach to assist people
Whether you want to surf, volunteer, or sponsor, your support makes this all happen; with the cost to secure your place just £5 and you can sign up on the link here: https://forms.gle/Bw6noXzrMcFXpnim6
The organisers Blue Horizons Adventures is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to reinvesting all profits into providing inclusive coastal experiences, including surfing and boat trips for people of all abilities.
