A DELEGATION of Swedish politicians and Objective One managers visited West Wales to learn from Welsh experience of managing the Objective One programme.
The group was led by Maggi Mikaelsson, the county governor of Jamtland County Administration.
During their time in Pembrokeshire, the visitors met with Clr. Maurice Hughes, leader of Pembrokeshire County Council, and Gwyn Evans, of the council's European Unit.
The trip was organised by the Wales European Centre (WEC) in partnership with the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO).
The delegation was keen to learn from the Welsh experience about using Objective One funds to tackle rural problems such as out-migration, adding value to forestry and supporting local businesses.
While in Wales, the Swedish guests also undertook site visits to Stradey Park, the Welsh Woollen Mill, Theatr Mwldan, and the National Botanic Gardens, and also met with representatives of the WDA and ELWa.
The chairman of the Pembrokeshire Partnership Management Board, Clr. John Allen-Mirehouse, said: "Exchanges such as these help to strengthen links between areas experiencing similar problems and allow solutions developed in one place to be replicated in another."
