Tenby will be playing host to a party of Swedish dancers and musicans next week.
The party of 30 dancers from Visby, on the island of Gotland, are visiting the Carmarthen area, but as their home town is very similiar to Tenby, being walled and coastal, they will be coming to the resort for the day on Thursday.
As guests of Dawnswyr Tipyn O Bopeth, the dancers will be holding a workshop at the De Valence Pavilion between 11 am and 12 noon.
Open to members of the public, it is hoped as many people as possible will attend the workshop to not only learn some Swedish traditional dances, but also traditional Welsh folk steps. Entrance is free of charge.
Weather permitting, the dancers will give an open-air display of their skills outside St. Mary's Church between 12 and 12.45 pm and again at 2 pm, before enjoying a civic tea hosted by the Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas.
