The Pembrokeshire branch of Cruse Bereavement Care is to hold a course for volunteer bereavement support counsellors, which begins in early March.
Cruse offers free advice and support to bereaved people in Pembrokeshire, both one to one and in groups. It can be immensely rewarding work.
The course has been designed specifically for Cruse volunteers to equip them with the awareness, skills and knowledge to offer the range of services that Cruse now provides.
The foundation course is divided into eight full-day sessions held over several weeks, and it does not assume any prior training or experience. This course has been accredited by OCNW at level 2.
Although applicants do not need to have any qualifications or previous experience, they do need to care about bereaved people and have time to offer a lasting commitment both to the branch and its clients. Cruse welcomes men and women of all ages, races, cultures and backgrounds.
For an application form call All Pembrokeshire Cruse on 01437 891006, or write to The Administrator, PO Box 34, Haverfordwest. Closing date is Monday, February 16.
