Sir,

Sardis Parks and Gardens Village Enhancement Scheme is four years old, and through your newspaper would like to thank local businesses for their support.

Recently Crofty Nursery and Garden Centre, Manorbier Garden Centre, Sandyhill Nurseries and Garden Centre and Tavernspite Garden Centre have all donated plants, which are planted in the roadside verges for the enjoyment of residents, and people who pass through the village. This local support is greatly appreciated.

Thanks also to the many national organisations who give advice and support. These include the wardens of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the Countryside Commission for Wales, PAVS, and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

The Principality Building Society and Wales and Borders Co-operative Group and Sustainable Pembrokeshire Small Grants Scheme have also given grants and encouragement.

At present, native shrubs are being planted in small patches in the woodland to provide food and cover for wildlife. Some of the plants for this have been purchased with money given by Whitbread Action Earth who have given ongoing support for three years.

As always, the Hean Castle Estate continues to help and this is invaluable to Sardis Parks and Gardens who are all volunteers.
