As Castlemartin, Croswell, St. David’s and Llwyndrain become the latest areas in Pembrokeshire to benefit from superfast fibre broadband, TV Licensing is reminding residents to get licensed to enjoy live television on computers, tablets, laptops and smartphones.
More homes and businesses in Pembrokeshire are now benefiting from faster download speeds, meaning more and more people will be able to watch live TV online. However, some may not be aware that a TV licence is needed to watch live television regardless of how programmes are received, or the device being used.
Catherine Griffith-Williams, TV Licensing spokesperson for Wales, explained: “There are lots of ways you can watch live television online through services like iPlayer, Sky Go, Chromecast and Amazon Fire. But anyone watching live television on a laptop, tablet, smartphone or any other device, who doesn’t already have a valid TV licence, will need one.”
Wales already leads the way with the provision of superfast broadband among the devolved nations, and Superfast Cymru continues to make good progress with over 530,000 premises in Wales now able to access fast fibre broadband thanks to the project.
