On a brilliantly sunny Sunday morning, March 25, Pembrokeshire Vintage Car Club had its opening season trip to The Maritime Museum in Hancock’s Yard, Front Street, Pembroke Dock. The trip was organised by Mr. David Brockway, of the car club, and David James, of the West Wales Maritime Heritage Society.

To mark the occasion, members of Pembroke Dock Town Council and especially the Town Team were invited so that they could see what is on offer to the tourists.

David Brockway introduced David James, who gave a brief talk about the yard and how the WWMHS is working with long-term unemployed men and the local Sea Scouts.

Also mentioned were the plans for the new Tenby Lugger and sailing events for this summer

The car club gave a very generous donation to the WWMHS to support the work being done and help with the forthcoming attractions.

About 15 cars were attracted out by the sunshine and all parked within the spacious yard.

A barbeque was doing well just inside the entrance and was used to the full, especially by the smaller members of the public who came along with mums and dads.

The WWMHS had quite a few members present and they showed the visitors round the museum and workshops.

A very successful beginning to the 2018 season.
