Last Sunday, The Tenby Vikings eight and under team got back into action against Pembroke Dock Quins.
It proved to be a hard match in glorious sunshine and from early on it was clear it would take something special to break both lines of defence.
Superb passing and running skills were shown by Curtis, Philip, Cai, Daniel and Hugh, but even though the boys kept going forward, the Quins' defence held strong every time.
Then just before half-time, Philip found a gap and finally crossed the line, 1-0 Tenby.
Their enthusiasm was still high for the second half and the Vikings, captained by Ryan, showed some excellent play.
Some brilliant tackling by Dylan, James, Luke and Sam T. kept the Quins from scoring, but it was the thundering tackles from Robert that resulted in one spectator asking if we had a licence for him to be on the field!
The Quins scored a try, but Tenby didn't get disheartened and some late runs again by Sam O., Philip and Curtis could easily have added to the score, but it just wasn't to be!
Another draw for the Vikings and again another wonderful display of rugby from this determined young side. Long may it continue.
