The Steps2Health walkers may have had a soaking the previous two weeks, but on Saturday the sun shone with almost a slight warmth bringing out not only the crocuses but also over 30 walkers who were eager to enjoy the exercise and companionship after such a dismal week (writes B.S.).
Walks leader Brian Ward led the shorter walk with walks leaders Barbara Morris and Janice Tooth also on hand. From Quarry Cottages they crossed the far Salterns car park to access Kiln Park. It was then on to the railway bridge and back into town along the golflinks path.
The longer walk, with walks leaders Erica Ward and Val Coates-Rees, turned right at the railway bridge and crossed the golf course to reach Penally by-pass. They then turned left along the path to Crossing Cottage and completed the circle back along the footpath alongside the railway line.
Coffee mornings at Church House are always a popular way to end the walk and the Plant Dewi coffee morning was certainly a popular event as the walkers swelled an already packed room.
Another coffee morning can be looked forward to tomorrow (Saturday) as the walk ends at Saundersfoot Bowling Club, where I must admit we have rather come to look forward to extra treats such as Welsh cakes!
It is planned to walk from New Hedges to Saundersfoot. Meet at New Hedges village hall 10.20 am. The Silcox 352 bus leaves Tenby at 10 am.
