Crowds bathed in glorious sunshine at the annual Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions Club Paella and Music Festival, at the start of a series of charitable events held at Tenby's harbour arena recently.

Crowds of holidaymakers and locals soaked up the sun and entertainment whilst enjoying food, wine and paella, which had all been sold within an hour, some 300 portions in all.

Local hotelier, chef and Lion Miguel Gonzalez who prepared and cooked the dish will be kept doubly busy next year when the club will be cooking two giant paella's to keep up the demand, which again took all by surprise with the speed in which it was all sold.

Entertainment was provided by local bands with spirited performances over a wide range of musical styles to keep everyone happy.

Local entertainer Laurie Dale sang old-time favourites in his unique style whilst coping admirably with all the autograph hunters.

D. C. Rees, Mustard Mitt, 93 AD and Elephant Gerald and Rob's Disco all helped to ensure the whole event was such a success and the club would like to thank all those who came and took part and helped to make it all run so smoothly, and we hope to see you all again next year.

All proceeds raised go to local Lions charities.

The club would like to thank the sponsors for their support and those who gave their time and effort for this event.

The Lions Club will be holding its next Paella Festival at Saundersfoot Carnival on August 4.

Sponsors for the paella event were: Skelfayre; Four Seasons; J.B.H.S.; Pembrokeshire Foods; Texaco; D. Fecci and Sons; Somerfield Stores; Tenby Sea Cadets; Steve Briers; Llanion Signs; Signright; Legion of Frontiersmen of the Commonwealth; Radio Pembrokeshire; Shane Doughty Electrics; Carl Evans and Matt Broadhurst; Laurie Dale; D.
