The 13th Tenby Ladies' 36-hole Open Meeting, held on Sunday, was the first in which the competitors did not encounter torrential rain, flooded fairways, gale force winds or fog and the excellent scores produced by nearly the whole field reflected the benign conditions. Both Tara Davies and Sahra Hassan had gross 67s, which reduced Tara's previous course record by two, on a course with SSS of 71. Many cards were sprinkled with birdies and eagles, primarily on the par 5s. However, the eagle two on the first hole in the first round by the evergreen Vicki Thomas deserves a special mention. It was a day enjoyed by everyone, players and spectators alike, and the ladies' committee is most grateful to the organisers of the event for making everything run so smoothly.
