Pembrokeshire police are urging people to keep their properties secure during the summer. As summer arrives, people pay less attention to securing their home. Superintendent Euros Lewis said: "Pembrokeshire is one of the safest places to live, work and visit. "However, most criminals are opportunist and by taking a few simple steps you can prevent yourself becoming a victim of crime. "Everyone wants to enjoy the hot weather, but remember when you go into the back garden to lock your front door and close any open windows at the front of the house. "Also, when you go to bed at night, ensure all windows and doors downstairs are closed." Other crime prevention advice for the summer includes: • Ensure all potential theft targets are removed from your garden and locked in the shed, garage or house, i.e. bikes, gardening equipment. • Ensure all windows, including the sun roof, on your vehicle are closed, even if you are leaving it just for short while.
