George Brinley Evans and John Sam Jones - two very different writers - talk about and read from their new books on Sunday, June 17, 7.30 pm at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven.

George Brinley Evans' book, 'Boys of Gold', is a collection of short stories that illuminate incidents in a life. The perceptive eye of a painter is trained on to details that build into pictures that not only allow us to see past worlds through his eyes, but also carry a surprising emotional punch.

An ex-miner, war veteran and painter and sculptor, at 77 years old, this is George Brinley Evans' first book.

John Sam Jones, from Barmouth, has worked as a teacher, prison and hospital chaplain and sexual health worker. He contributes regularly to Welsh language TV and radio.

His book, 'Welsh Boys Too', has been described as a charming and thoughtful collection of short stories which is a joy to read. Contemporary yet timeless, these tales of gay men living in rural Wales have a pathos and dignity to them that sustains this slim but vibrant collection.

This free event will be chaired by Robert Nesbitt.
