The countdown is on to next Wednesday, July 27, when the ever-popular St. Issell's Summer Fun Night takes place. The event, which always draws large crowds of holidaymakers and locals alike, kicks-off at 6.30 pm at the school field in Frances Lane. Once again this year, the organisers have been busy preparing a packed programme of attractions to suit all tastes. On the bill will be a donkey derby, a line dancing display and live music by local group, Elephant Gerald. And, in order to make the night 'wheelie' successful, there will be a display of classic cars which is always admired. To add to the fun, there will also be fairground rides, a bouncy castle and slide for the youngsters to enjoy. There will also be circus fun, including plate spinning, with Folly Farm. As well as a great variety of stalls selling books, cakes, garden produce, Welsh cakes, a tombola and white elephant, there will be a car boot sale for people to browse around. Sellers will be most welcome. Side shows and competitions will also be held around the field. "You name it - we've got," smiled Canon Michael Butler. In addition, refreshments and a licensed bar will also be available. Admission is £1 for adults and 60p for children, with all proceeds from the event going to St. Issell's Church.
