The Summer Festival at St Mary’s Church, Carew, was a great success and it was heart-warming to see so many people enjoying the church and the event. Locals and the wider community along with holiday visitors came over the three days and, despite the rain on Friday, we had in excess of 500 visitors over the three days.

The church was alive with colour, with displays from local businesses, charitable organisations and floral displays from the church congregation; it was truly a community and ecumenical event.

The wonderful display of wedding dresses and christening gowns of those married and christened at St. Marys brought back many good memories of locals.

Pew posys in memory of loved ones were on display and after the service, those who had sponsored a posy in memory of a loved one, were invited to take it home.

The Oratory attracted visitors with a display of photos showing the history of the local area, our thanks to Derek Brock.

The songs of praise service was well attended with uplifting singing from a full church. The service was led by Rev Joel Barder, his first service in St. Mary’s, Carew. The collection from the service will be donated to Patch.

We would like to thank those unseen supporters, M&Co, Sign Speed, Carew Airfield and Just Great Designs for their support.
