Sir,

May I through your columns take this opportunity to offer my sincere thanks to everyone associated with the very successful Summer Festival and Carnival held last weekend in Kilgetty.

The whole weekend was a tremendous success and attended by a large number of local residents and visitors who came along and enjoyed the entertainment in the sunshine.

My special thanks go to my fellow committee members from the Begelly Kilgetty Community Association, who organised the event, for all their dedication and hard work in putting together a magnificent show.

A tremendous amount of unseen work goes into planning and organising the weekend and it is a tribute to them all that they manage it so well.

Thanks also to the Kingsmoor Sports Association for their support and assistance; to all the volunteers who helped in so many different ways; to all the stallholders and craft exhibitors; to all the performers and artists who entertained us; to all the owners and drivers of the vehicles who entered the second 'Bulldog Mile' historic parade; to all the participants in the Carnival who really made the parade come alive; and finally to everyone who came along and supported the events and enjoyed themselves.

I can say that we are proud of the contribution made to community life in our two villages and hope to continue our objective of improving the amenities in the area.

I only hope that other people will draw some inspiration from our efforts and come forward and assist with some of our work. We are all volunteers, so please get involved.

Once again my thanks to everyone who assisted or helped in any way.

David Pugh,

Chairman
