The Alpha Inn, Tavernspite, held its first summer darts league this year and it was well supported by 12 players from the A and B teams.

There were some good, closely fought battles along the way, with the final rankings: 1. Paul Rowlands 75 points; 2. Dan Hughes 53; 3. Simon Griffiths 50; 4. Derek Guard 45.

In the semi-finals, Paul beat Derek (5-1) and Simon beat Dan (5-2).

So the final saw Paul versus Simon, and in a closely contested battle, which was decided in the final leg, Simon won (6-5).
