A joint investigation involving Dyfed-Powys Police and Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales is underway surrounding the sudden death of a pensioner.
Mr. William Thomas Harries Lewis, 86, formerly from the Boncath area, had been a resident at Woodfield Nursing Home, Narberth, for approximately two years.
Mr. Lewis was found by nursing/care staff in his room at the nursing home having suffered a head injury during the early hours of Thursday, October 4. He was taken by ambulance to the Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest for treatment, but passed away during the early hours of the following morning, Friday, October 5.
HM Coroner for Pembrokeshire has been informed. The next of kin to the deceased have been fully updated of all aspects of the investigation to date.
Meetings convened under Adult Protection Procedures have taken place involving multi agencies, as a matter of routine.
