FOLLOWING the huge crtical success of 'Twelfth Night' last year, leading touring theatre company, Stageworks Theatre, will present their production of 'The Tempest' in CADW venues throughout Wales.
'Twelfth Night' received much critical acclaim last year and audiences won't be disappointed in 2006, for, not only does 'The Tempest' cast include favourites from last year, Jason Furnival (Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Northern Lights) and Robert Dent (Sir Andrew Agucheek), but also Royal National Theatre player Tom Armstrong as Prospero, Ballet Rambert performer, Will Palmer as Ariel, and comic acting genius David Bowen as Stephano. Kate Burdette plays the innocent teenage Miranda. Kate has had a wonderful time rehearsing for 'The Tempest' and, being the only woman in the cast, has quickly won herself several admirers.
Producer, Adrian Monahan, said: "We performed in CADW sites last August and received such a warm reception from our supportive audiences that we have decided to get together with CADW again this year.
"It is a testament to the faith the CADW management have in us that they have asked us back for several more performances throughout Wales. We have assembled an outstanding cast for 'The Tempest' under the direction of award winning director James Masters. With such a wealth of talent and experience, this production promises to be nothing less than an artistic and comic tour de force!"
So why not take a picnic, a bottle of wine and a deckchair, enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Wales' national heritage sites, and experience the delights of this comic tale of magic, betrayal and reconciliation!
'The Tempest' is at Carew Castle on July 12 at 7 pm and at Laugharne Castle on August 2.
