Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club's junior section has enjoyed a highly successful season, with several impressive achievements.
The Welsh Championship held earlier this year (in August) was also the selection race for the Welsh team for the IRC.
Pembrokeshire Tri Club had four Welsh champions in six race categories: Alicia Jones in 11/12 age group; Euan Cox in 11/12 age group; Caitlin Thompson in 13/14 age group Megan Withers in 15/16 age group.
In addition the following athletes were selected for the IRC event held at Parc Bryn Bach in September: Sophie Rees in 11/12 age group; Finn Thompson in 11/12 age group; Ieuan Cooke in 13/14 age group; Kate Matchett in 15/16 age group.
Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club confirmed its place as the pre-eminent junior club in Wales by providing eight of the 13 Welsh team members. Best performance on the day came from Megan Withers who finished fifth in her race.
The other outstanding junior performance of the year was by Alex Matchett on the same day in the Elite race (at Parc Bryn Bach).
In a race involving the elite of British triathlon, including current world champion Alistair Brownlee, Jonathan Brownlee and Tim Don, Alex was the top Welsh finisher and fourth junior.

The junior section of the Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club trains every week on Friday evenings and also some weekends. All those over the age of eight are very welcome to join.
SENIORS SUCCESS
There was also success in the senior side of the club, The 2XU Welsh Grand Prix series overall winners were Tenby's Olly Simon in the senior male section and Ellie Jones in the female senior section, both from the Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club.
Ellie also won this year's local Triexercise Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon held at Broad Haven, which will be held again on July 2, 2011.
If you would like to have a go at triathlons, the club offers friendly training sessions at very reasonable rates, Sixteen training sessions a month for £10 or £2.50 per session. The training sessions are as follows:
Monday - swim at Haverfordwest pool 7.30 - 8.30pm; Tuesday - run at Haverfordwest multi-storey 6.50 - 8 pm; Thursday - swim at Milford Haven pool 6.30 - 7.30 pm; Friday - track sessions at Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest, from 5.30 pm.
